Robert Pryer
Lawyer/Business Owner
Call date: November 13,1998
University of Western Ontario (LL.B. 1996)
York University (BA,)
Robert was born in Northern Quebec but like many gradually began moving West. First to Quebec City then Ottawa then Toronto then London Ontario where he attended Law School at the University of Western Ontario. Before completing law school Robert spent 4 years on the JET Program in Kagoshima, Japan. After Law School Robert completed the Westward journey by articling in Vancouver. After Articles, he started working at ICBC as a defence council and soon afterward was hired by Mr. Specht to work for his firm which had already been serving the Chinese community since at least 1998.
In 2002 Robert and Ken Specht decided to combine resources and formed the Specht and Pryer law firm. It was natural for Specht and Pryer to continue helping the Chinese and other new immigrant communities.
Although the original focus was on ICBC and real estate, Ken and Robert soon realized that they needed to expand to other areas of law because clients were asking for help with other issues. There were fewer multilingual law firms back then.
Now Robert’s main areas of practice are Family Law, Estate, and Corporate Commercial matters.
With over 25 years of experience Robert and his multi-lingual team are still mostly assisting the new immigrant communities. Robert always tries to find reasonable and cost-effective solutions for his clients.
When he is not at the office Robert enjoys gardening.
Robert is a member of the Law Society of BC.
