Our Team

Robert has been with the firm since 2001 and has over 20 years of experience serving Vancouver’s immigrant community. Robert is a people-oriented lawyer who connects easily with clients. His practice includes family, corporate and commercial, wills and estates, and criminal law. In addition to his own work, he also works closely with and provides guidance to other lawyers at the firm. Outside the office, Robert enjoys gardening.

Veronece joined the team in March 2020 after obtaining a J.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She practises family law, residential tenancy, and estate planning. She provides client-focused, practical legal support in both English and Cantonese. Her work focuses on helping clients through family matters such as child and spousal support, property division, guardianship, and parenting arrangements. In addition to litigation, she also prepares agreements and estate documents.

Cathy was born and raised in China. She immigrated to Vancouver, BC, with her family during her teens. Cathy graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Cathy started at Specht & Pryer in 2020 after completing the legal office skills program at Vancouver Community Centre. She subsequently obtained a paralegal diploma from Vancouver Community Centre in 2023. Prior to Specht & Pryer, Cathy worked at a major Canadian bank as a representative. In her time off work, Cathy enjoys music and dining out.

Tomoko has been with Specht and Pryer since 2018. She mostly helps with translating documents and emails in the background. She is also a passionate Yogi and kayaker. Tomoko graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

For Japanese-speaking clients, Shiho will be your primary point of contact. She has been working with the firm as a translator since 2019. In addition to her translation work, she is also an experienced insurance and investment advisor. She graduated from Iwate University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
